About Us

Who We Are

Empowering Children Through Sport

At First Steps Sports Club, our initiative is to engage children in sporting activities and promote a healthy and active lifestyle from as early as possible. Being owned and supported by qualified teachers and professional footballers, allows us to combine our expertise and passion to inspire children.

Engaging children in sports from a young age has numerous benefits, including physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, discipline and confidence building. Our programmes are based around all of these areas, encouraging children to lead active lives and set solid foundations for a healthy lifestyle as they grow older.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Pitshanger FC Partnership

Since 2021, we have been partnered up with the biggest grassroots football club in Ealing. Through this partnership, we have exclusive access to their sites, using these for our weekly football sessions and football/multi-sports holiday camps. We also organise regular friendlies against a variety of Pitshanger FC age groups, providing our children the opportunity to put their training in to action. In addition to this, we have our feeding programme, which allows our more advanced children to integrate in to PFC teams, playing weekly in a competitive league. Similarly, if PFC feel a child is not quite ready to join a team or needs further training, they are referred to one of our weekly football sessions.

We have been to 3 other local football coaching sessions and First Steps are level up from them all. The coaches are well trained and enthusiastic. The facilities are good and booking is easy through their website.

Lewis knows what day of the week he goes to see Coach Kieran. In this age group he’s learning to listen, learn co-ordination made all the easier because the coaches take the time to learn all the children’s names and frequently address them, encourage them during class. Our LO likes to receive the end of session sticker. The end of term presentation was special, every child received a call out and had to collect their medal and certificate and in addition there were some proper trophies for standout performances. We liked theattention to detail and care that went into the planning for this right before Christmas.

My son has been going to football training here for several seasons now. Loves it and the coaches. An hour is a long time at that age but they keep them all really engaged and behaving, which can't be easy!Charlie drew this picture of coach Jordan on medal presentation day today, his grannie gave him some stickers and they reminded him of his medal!

Our son is almost 5 years old and started just after his 3rd birthday. We were previously with another football club and have found First Steps to be brilliant. It is fun, engaging and our son absolutely loves his Sunday sessions. The coaches know the children and bring a great energy to the club. Each term ends with a medal ceremony which is a great touch allowing the children to celebrate their achievements. We are really thankful for First Steps. We will be putting his younger sister in soon!

20/5/23 First visit for a Middlesex County Football League match. Pitshanger Dynamo 12-0 OIR FC. Lovely sports ground with room for two pitches. There are no amenities for spectators, the main building is changing rooms for the teams. There is no hard standing around the pitch and the only cover is under the main building.
